Security patrol issues and arrests

02Jun2014

It's getting more dangerous for anyone in a uniform that carries a gun.
Police work has been always dangerous but security work is reaching just a dangerous.

Of all the gear to have, invest in a high quality vest that will protect you from your own weapon.
In 1990 the UCR's from the FBI said 4 out of 5 shootings involving officers involved being shot with your own gun.

P320 Entry: “I’ll Only Be Out For A Few Minutes” By Dan Zimmerman on June 1, 2014 By Tommy Y.“I’ll only be out for a few minutes.” That’s what I said when I exited the house and...

On Oct 31, 2013 folk started to pull pranks on police and security patrols in the Arlington Area.  In front of me a white male threw out a window what looked like a baby into a dumpster and sped away.
Fearing for the child I quickly drove to the dumpster and to my surprise saw this.
It not only looked real from 100 yards away but also up close.

The purp was later caught by Grand Prairie Police after doing the same thing later that night.

In November and December as the holidays began and the weather started to force family and neighbors to stay inside tempers grew out of control.
Here we see shootings of a neighbors car because of loud music they refused to turn down.  This was in Arlington, TX.

As money gets tight and people don't pay their bills, creditors repo their goods yet it sometimes looks like theft.
This idiot rented his rims AND tires.  Makes one wonder what the hell he did with the original ones?

In Lewisville, TX while on patrol, I saw a truck disabled.  I asked them what they needed and he said a jump start.  Though I had no jumper cables in the patrol car, I called for a wrecker for him and informed him it was on the way.

As I drove off to resume patrols, I saw him through the rear-view mirror going from car to car.  When I doubled back I caught him inside a jeep on the floorboard.
I asked him what he was doing and he said "looking for jumper cables".

I arrested him for burglary of a motor vehicle and had LPD take him away.  He was a illegal alien with no I.D. or drivers licenses.  The truck he drove to that apartment complex was later reported as stolen. He was also intoxicated.

There are very few instances for ANY security vehicle to exceed the speed limit however having said that, life or limb is justified if police cannot get to them because of overloaded calls and manpower shortages.
Having said all of that, the car and driver must have the training and abilities to do such acts and whatever the outcome, the officer must be ready to answer for that if need be.

This call involved shots fired with another security officer that I responded to.  He was on the ground shot twice in the right leg.  I stopped the bleeding and got an ambulance to arrive.....19 minutes later.  From the time the call was placed to 911, an hour and 3 minuets had elapsed.

And as always drunks are everywhere at all times of the year.
